The head of the GIS Center has changed – news

By order of the Minister of Defense dated September 19, 2022, Medet Sharipkhanovich Dyusembaev was appointed Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan GIS Center JSC. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

Medet Dyusembaev is a graduate of the Kazakhstan-British Technical University, the Kazakhstan Innovation University in Humanitarian Law, the University of Warwick (UK) and the International Business School in Madrid.

He began his career in 2008 in engineering and technical positions in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries. He was a project manager of the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan JSC, director of the technology transfer center of the National Agency for Technological Development JSC, vice-chairman of the board of directors of the joint-stock company QazTech Ventures, head of the company’s project management team. World Bank and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Center for Engineering and Technology Transfer (now QazInnovations).

Medet Dyusembaev is an expert of the Science, Technology and Innovation Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. In 2019, he was enrolled in the presidential youth staff reserve. Fluency in Kazakh, Russian and English.

He is currently doing his PhD thesis in the direction of “New Materials Technology” at the Harbin Institute of Technology (China).

Previously, the “Kazakhstan GIS Center” was called the Republican State Enterprise “Geoinformation Support Center of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (RSE “CSC AF RK”). It was created to provide topographic, geodetic and cartographic products, as well as geo-information support for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan based on digital cartography. In 2005, RSE “CSC SC RK” was reorganized into JSC “Kazakhstan GIS Center” with 100% state participation.

Currently, the Company develops its activities in the following areas: creation of geographic information systems in various industries; cartographic and geodetic production, including the creation of digital maps and GIS products; printing and publishing activities; creation and operation of data transmission systems and telecommunications networks; provision of services in the recreation center “Golden Sands” (Kapshagay).
